Venice by Twilight (Dusk)

This beautiful piece of art was painted by Claude Monet in 1908. It depicts a peaceful sunset off the coast of Venice, Italy. The vibrant, yet peaceful colors that make up this painting of the sunset is what transforms it into a romantic piece. The blues, yellows, oranges and reds that make up this painting portrays the feeling of summer and summer nights which connects to feelings of romance and summer love. The warm hues that Monet used creates a glowing effect that gives off signals that say "Please capture this romantic setting!" The way that the sky and buildings reflect on the water displays how the setting sun radiates its magnificent colors in all directions for a sure romantic feel. It gives off a peaceful, serene, and divine vibe, which provide the nature over civilization and art over science concepts of romance. The water on the shoreline appear to be a little choppy, but tamed and gentle enough for the viewer to still be able to see the reflection of the tall tower of the city of Venice. This creates a soft and tranquil, yet mysterious way that Monet depicted the beautiful, romantic city.
There is a reason why watching the sunset together on a date is romantic. It is because the sunset is a natural, yet magical phenomenon that turns the plain blue sky into a whirlwind of stunning colors that just puts the viewer in awe. The feeling I get when I look at the poster of this painting I have on my wall is just one of relaxation, peace of mind, and the beauty of nature. I would say that this piece by Monet is the epitome of a romantic painting of nature.
